ecovolta AG is a Swiss manufacturer of battery systems for electric vehicles and machines. Battery and drive solutions are developed and tested in the company's own research and development department. The range of services also includes contract development and system integration of battery systems.
ecovolta was founded in 2018 as a division of the technology company ecocoach AG and has been an independent AG since May 2023. The headquarters and series production are located in Brunnen. However, the story of ecovolta began over ten years ago in the Schwyz valley basin (CH). It began with Baptist Reichmuth's idea of utilising farm waste to generate energy. He founded AGRO Energie Schwyz for this purpose. This now supplies the entire region with electricity and heat from biomass. His sons Pirmin and Philip are also enthusiastic about innovative energy technologies. They also strive for sustainable and energy self-sufficient solutions. They decide to develop energy management systems and energy storage systems for buildings and vehicles. To this end, they founded ecocoach AG and put together a dynamic team of electricians and software developers who shared their fascination and wanted to play an active role in shaping the future of energy. Over time, the mobile battery part of the business became increasingly autonomous and was founded as a separate company, ecovolta AG, in 2023.
