Dispose of hazardous substances, recover raw materials

SENS recycling companies are responsible for ensuring that the raw materials contained in electrical equipment are reused, thereby closing the cycle. They dismantle the old equipment, process the pollutants it contains in an environmentally friendly manner and ensure that valuable raw materials can be reused.

Regular inspections

Regular inspections by independent experts ensure that the high quality standards are continuously monitored and developed further. The enduring relationships between SENS eRecycling and its eRecycling partners ensure both ecologically exemplary working practices and economically beneficial processes.

Requirements for recycling

SENS recycling companies play a central role in the recycling system – and are responsible for the proper, transparent and optimal processing of electronic waste. To ensure consistent quality and traceability, clear requirements apply to licensed recycling companies:

  • Secure processing and logistics: collections must take place within five working days of order receipt, including correct weighing and complete documentation.
  • Transparent material processing: processing must take place in audited plants in accordance with SN EN 50625 and the supplementary technical specifications issued by SENS and Swico. The proprietary trading of SENS equipment is prohibited.
  • Quality control and traceability: weighing certificates, progress reports and material flow data must be transmitted electronically and be accessible at any time.
  • Training and standards: the entire process must be conducted under the responsibility of trained specialists – from disassembly to the forwarding of unapproved equipment.
  • Regular audits and licensing obligation: the SENS Technical Commission performs regular on-site inspections of all partner companies. To hold a licence, the recycling company must provide evidence of audited processes, approved systems and compliance with strict environmental and safety regulations.

Only companies that meet these standards are able to remain part of the SENS network. After all, recycling should be not just be efficient but also sustainable, monitored and fair.
