Personal data processed in connection with communication and service provision

We collect the information you provide to us as follows:

  • when you contact us;
  • when you register as a user on the Website or the Online Platform;

  • when you apply for a position with us;

This includes general personal data, e.g. your name and contact details, as well as, where applicable, information about your position or role at the organisation on whose behalf you contact us.

Provision and use of our Website and Online Platform

Use for information purposes

You can find information about SENS and our range of services on the Website without telling us who you are. As with any connection to a web server, the server on which we have the Website and the Online Platform provided automatically logs and stores certain technical data for a short period of time. This includes the IP address and operating system of your device, the date and time of use, and the type of browser through which you access the Website or Online Platform.

Use of our Online Platform

We operate the SENS Portal and EV Database («Online Platform»). When you register as a user on the Online Platform, we collect the information you provide to us. This includes general personal data such as your name and contact details, as well as personal information that you or other users enter, upload, generate, store and process when using the Online Platform.

Web analytics

We use web analytics services on our websites to statistically evaluate the use of our websites and to improve our content, offerings and technical functions.

In particular, information about the device and browser used, cookie and device identifiers, pages accessed, the origin or referral source of the visit, the time and duration of the visit, approximate location information and information about interactions with our websites may be processed.

Where web analytics services use cookies or similar technologies, we inform you about this in our cookie preference tool. There, depending on the technology used and its purpose, you can make your selection or object to the corresponding data processing.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google.

Google Analytics enables us in particular to analyse how our websites are used, which sources visitors use to reach our websites, which pages and content are accessed and how users interact with our websites.

Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies. In particular, information about the device and browser used, cookie and device identifiers, usage and interaction data, and approximate location information may be processed.

According to Google, individual IP addresses of users in Switzerland are not logged or stored. The IP address is used to derive general location information and is then discarded.

We use the information obtained through Google Analytics for statistical evaluation and to optimise our websites and offerings.

Further information about data processing by Google can be found in Google’s privacy information.

Adform

We use services from Adform A/S to analyse the use of our websites and to measure and optimise our online marketing activities.

For this purpose, Adform uses cookies, tags, pixels and similar technologies. In particular, cookie and device identifiers, information about the device and browser used, IP addresses or location information derived from them, pages and URLs accessed, and information about interactions with our websites and online advertising materials may be processed.

The information obtained in this way may be used in particular to statistically evaluate visits and interactions and to measure and optimise the success of campaigns.

Further information about data processing by Adform can be found in Adform’s privacy information.

Advertising technologies

We use technologies to measure and optimise our online advertising.

These technologies enable us in particular to determine whether and how users reach our websites as a result of an advertising measure and how they interact there with our content and offerings.

Depending on the technology used, cookies, tags, pixels and similar technologies may be used. In particular, cookie and device identifiers, technical information about the device and browser used, pages accessed, and information about interactions with our websites and advertising materials may be processed.

For this purpose, we use services from Adform A/S in particular.

Where functions are used that allow users to be recognised across different websites, assigned to specific target groups or addressed with personalised advertising, this may lead to more extensive profiling of usage behaviour. We only use such functions in compliance with the applicable data protection requirements.

Via our cookie preference tool, you can view information about the technologies used and, depending on the technology and purpose, make your selection or object to the corresponding data processing.

Information on the use of cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies, tags, pixels, local storage technologies and comparable technologies on our websites.

Cookies are small files that can be stored on your device. Tags and pixels are technical elements that can be used in particular to determine whether certain content has been accessed or certain actions have been performed.

We use such technologies in particular for the following purposes:

Necessary technologies

These technologies are required so that our websites and their basic functions can be provided. For example, they may be used to store language settings, security settings or your cookie preferences.

Analysis and statistics

These technologies help us understand how our websites are used. We use the information obtained for statistical evaluation and to improve our websites and content. For this purpose, we use Google Analytics and services from Adform in particular.

Marketing and advertising

These technologies help us measure the success of our communication and advertising activities and optimise our online advertising. Depending on the function used, they may also be used to assign users to specific target groups or display relevant advertising. For this purpose, we use services from Adform in particular.

Via our cookie preference tool, you can view further information about the technologies and providers used and manage your settings.

You can also configure your browser so that cookies are blocked in general or in part, or so that you are notified before a cookie is set. You can delete cookies that have already been stored via your browser settings. If you block cookies, individual functions of our websites may only be available to a limited extent.

Social Plugins

The Social Plugins used on the Website allow you to recommend and share our content on social networks. You can recognise the Social Plugins on the Website by the logos of the respective social network. If you interact with the Social Plugin, data is sent to the respective social network provider.

Resources from external websites

We integrate resources from external servers into our Website. These include visible content (e.g. images, maps, videos, music) as well as technical resources (e.g. fonts, captchas, payment tool).

The technical resources are used to improve the performance or security of our Website. When these resources are retrieved, the operator of the external servers receives your IP address and/or certain ancillary data required for the use of the external operator’s servers.

Note on the use of cookies

We use cookies, tags and similar technologies on the Website to provide you with the best possible user experience and to help us improve the Website. Cookies are text files that are downloaded to your computer or mobile device when you visit a website or use an app.

Some of the cookies we use are necessary to provide certain functions of the Website. In addition, we use cookies to analyse the use of the Website and to obtain information for optimising the Website. You can learn more about our use of cookies by using the Cookie Preferences tool implemented on the Website.

You can instruct your browser not to accept cookies or to ask you each time before a cookie is set. You can also delete cookies on your device by using the corresponding function in your browser. In addition, you can inform us of your preferences regarding the acceptance of cookies via the Cookie Preferences tool used on the Website.

On our social media pages, you will find posts about current developments at SENS and about our range of services. Social media providers collect and analyse usage data such as the number of visits and demographic information about visitors to our company pages.

We receive evaluations prepared on this basis from the social media providers. These contain only aggregated or otherwise sufficiently anonymised data. Only the respective provider can identify you on the basis of the usage data collected. Please therefore note the privacy information of the respective provider.

These enable us to optimise our newsletter and provide you with content that interests you.

You can also inform us at any time that you no longer wish to receive our newsletter in the future. Please use the unsubscribe link at the end of the newsletter for this purpose. If you click on this link, we will no longer measure and analyse your use of the newsletter in the future.
